Back on the ballot? Appeal could be forthcoming in airport expansion suit

Thanks to some misfiled paperwork, it appears that the suit over the ballot question regarding the expansion project of the Floyd W. Jones Memorial Airport is not over, and an appeal may be in the works.

On Feb. 2, 26th Judicial District Judge William R. Hass placed a permanent restraining order against the city placing the question on the ballot. Since then, some “concerned citizens,” according to Ward 2 Councilman James White, have been working on seeking an appeal of the decision.

Rolla runs away from ‘Jackets

What started out as a pitchers duel between senior No. 1 pitchers — Lebanon’s Justin Breedlove and Rolla’s Cole Roark — ended in a runaway win for the Rolla Bulldogs on Monday at Oley Scott Field.

The Ozark Conference opener for both teams was tied through the first four innings at 1-1, and the ‘Jackets were within 3-2 after five before the Bulldogs broke the game open with five runs off Lebanon’s relief pitchers in the sixth.

The loss drops the ‘Jackets to 0-3 this season, and 0-1 in league play.
