Brenda Gail Beauchamp, 61, of Waynesville, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Springfield.

She is survived by seven children, Larry Hunter and Amber, of Laquey; Richard Crossland and Stephanie, of Waynesville; Beth Hunter, of Waynesville; Sharon Beauchamp, of Waynesville; Jason Beauchamp and Brittany, of Lebanon; Michael Beauchamp and Jessica Hunter, both of Waynesville; eight grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Wanted man caught Monday after fleeing from police Friday night

A Lebanon man who claims on social media to be a modern day Clyde Barrow is behind bars after allegedly running from the police since Friday night.

Charles Daniel Ferry, 26, of Lebanon, was apprehended by Lebanon Police officers early Monday morning. Ferry, who was wanted on multiple warrants, has been locked up in the Laclede County Jail with bond denied. He is facing a resisting arrest charge, a class D felony, according to a probable cause statement released by the Laclede County Prosecuting Attorney's office.

Heroes of Harwood Lowe’s employees volunteer at Harwood Manor

For more than 10 years, the Lowe’s Heroes program has encouraged employees to team together, adopt a volunteer project with a local nonprofit organization or K–12 public school and make a difference in their community.

Thanks to the nationwide program, Harwood Manor’s activity rooms were recently selected by the Lowe’s Heroes program of Lebanon to undergo a makeover. There were many local nonprofit organizations that were considered, but Harwood’s untouched 1970-styled activity rooms and outdoor yard fit the bill.

County buys 911 system Laptop option will help serve LPD’s needs

The Laclede County Commission approved the purchase of new equipment for its 911 system Tuesday after more than 50 minutes of discussion, ending its meeting with a promise to form an advisory board.

At its previous meeting, the commission tabled the decision to buy a $450,000.62 all-in-one radio and telephone system from Commenco Inc. Wireless Solutions of Kansas City after representatives of the Lebanon Police Department expressed concerns about whether the LPD dispatch would be able to communicate directly with 911 callers.

Church wrestling canceled

Later this month, members of LifePoint Church had planned on laying the smack down on Satan in a wrestling ring, but a state office has called time on the match.

Loyd Joe Pearce, 75, of Hazard, Ky., formerly of the Competition area, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the Hazard Medical Center.

He was the son of Eddie and Effie Holder Pearce, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Whitaker Pearce; one sister, Clara Belle Parker, and one brother, Gerald Pearce.
