Dog bites person on bicycle

A pitbull mix dog was removed from a local business after it allegedly attacked someone.

On Monday afternoon, a Lebanon Police Department Animal Control officer went to Mercy Hospital Lebanon to speak to the victim of a dog bite and his father. The father told the officer that the victim was riding his bike on Lynn Street in front of Tim Parson’s Auto Sales when a dog ran out and bit him in front of the store, according to an LPD incident report.

The age of the victim is not in the police report. 

Helen Louise Esther Martley

<span>Helen Louise Esther Martley, 93, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Osage Beach.</span>

<span>She was born Oct. 2, 1922, to Leo G. and Pearl L. Wedge Collins.</span>

<span>Helen was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one brother, Ralph Collins; one brother in infancy; one sister, Evelyn Smith, and one grandson, Stan.</span>

<span>She was a homemaker for a majority of her life. She also worked for Laclede County Health Center.</span>

David Joseph Fry

David Joseph Fry, 93, of Cabool, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services and burial for David Joseph Fry will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Rock Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.

A memorial has been established to Mountain Grove Church of Christ and contributions can be made through Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove.

Leland Homer Shamel

Leland Homer Shamel, 91, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Lebanon.

He was born May 24, 1924, in Competition, Mo. to Homer and Grace Cook Shamel.

On Oct. 15, 1947, he married Flossie Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Janice Johnson and Clara Tracy, and one brother, Loren Shamel.

Leland Shamel was a farmer.

Herbert Wayne Wade

Herbert Wayne Wade, 85, of Springfield, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Springfield.

Funeral services for Herbert Wayne Wade will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Linda Carol (Duncan) Storie

Linda Carol (Duncan) Storie, 67, of Waynesville, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, in the Life Care Center of Waynesville.

A pair of Lebanon men face drug charges after they allegedly refused to leave a fast food restaurant Friday night.

Shawn Wesley Caudle, 19, and Caleb Eugene Smith, 19, both of Lebanon, are each charged with a class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. Caudle also faces an unlawful use of a weapon charge, which is a class D felony, according to court records.

Both have been released from the Laclede County Jail on their own recognizance.
