Elmer Wease

Elmer Wease, 81, of Stoutland died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, in Stoutland. 

He was born on Dec. 27, 1932 in St. Francisville, Ill., to Ernest and Kathryn Wease, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Harlan and Jackie; three sisters, Vivian, Betty and Alice; and a great-grandchild, Moses Elsworth Hungerford Wease. 

On Sept. 7, 1952, he married Katherine Fern Wessling. 

He was retired from the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic for H.D. Lee in Richland and was employed with MFA in Richland. He was also a farmer in Camden County for many years. 

He attended Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Wease; two sons, Dennise Wayne Wease and his wife, Jennifer of Jefferson City, and Ralf Wease of Stoutland; a daughter, Penny Ann Peterson and husband Roy of  Waynesville; a sister, Ruth Wise and husband John of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Chris Wease and wife, Hilary Hungerford, Kenny Peterson and wife, Jamie, and Jacob and Dawson Wayne Wease; three great-grandchildren, June Hungerford Wease, Addie Love and Darold Peterson; also other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Elmer Wease will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church with Pastor John Book officiating.

Burial will be in the Wease Family Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church near Montreal, Mo.
