George James Kinnett, 89, of Lebanon, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Lebanon.

He was born June 4, 1924 in Laclede County, Mo. to D and Cora Gilbertson Kinnett.

On July 9, 1944 he married Roberta Lucille Smith, who preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 2012.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a postal clerk at the Lebanon Post Office for 30 years.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, J.L. Kinnett and his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Linda Callahan and her husband, Jim, all of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Rob Kinnett and his friend, Lori McCue and Jimmy Kinnett and his wife, Dayna; three great-grandchildren, Baylee and Kylee Kinnett and Brooke Larson; also other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for George James Kinnett will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Greg Turner officiating.

Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post No. 4107, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time, also on Wednesday morning at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.

Memorials have been suggested to First Christian Church and donations can be left at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
