The Lebanon Daily Record recently asked Lebanon city council and mayor candidates to complete a questionnaire in order to provide information to the voters.

The two seats are up for grabs in Ward 4. Both incumbents are running unopposed. Chuck Jordan is running for his two-year term and Joseph Chastain is running for his one-year unexpired term. Today's response is from Jordan, as Chastain chose not to respond to the questionnaire.

1. What is your position on the city’s plan to extend the runway at the Floyd W. Jones Airport project?

I support the Floyd W. Jones Airport runway extension project. We have an opportunity to bring our airport up to current FAA standards and receive considerable financial help doing it. The longer runway will allow the safest flying conditions that we can provide and be another asset to use in promoting our area to prospective employers considering locating here. This project has competed successfully with other similar projects and been approved thru FAA and MoDOT channels. There to 4,600-plus local jobs tied directly to 29 local companies that use the airport. It is a critical asset for Lebanon’s future.
