The City of Lebanon this week installed nine new signs promoting Historic Route 66 on Elm Street.
The new signs read: “Historic Route 66 Byway.” The first one was installed on Elm Street Thursday morning by Lebanon Street Department workers.
According to a statement from the city, “The city of Lebanon takes pride in celebrating our connection to the ‘Mother Road.’”
Mike Moore, Street Division superintendent said the new signs are exactly the same design as the existing Historic Route 66 Byway signs already on Elm.
Tourism Director Nicole McGinnis said the signs will help raise awareness of the historic highway.
