A crowd gathered with a purpose at 4 p.m. at the Laclede County Courthouse sporting its huge American flag on the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attack.
They met to remember the tragedy’s victims and to strengthen that memory and their resolve to safeguard the rights and freedoms that the 9/11 terrorists attempted to take away.
Lt. Steve Davis of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Region I was the guest speaker.
“The attack that killed nearly 3,000 people and injured 6,000 more should never be forgotten,” Davis said.
The general public joined representatives of local first responders, dispatchers and volunteers in the hot September sun.
