Longtime Lebanon firefighter Norman Cross, 60, died Wednesday, Jan. 9.
Lt. Cross served the fire department for more than 40 years.
Lebanon Fire Chief Sam Schneider said Cross was hired in April of 1977 and was among the first nine career full-time firefighters the city hired. Schneider said Cross served as a firefighter, then a driver and then a lieutenant with the department.
“He was always quick with a friendly wit,” Schneider said.
