The Lebanon Fire Department’s smoke alarm efforts have received a boost.
The department safety and education fund has been founded at the Lebanon Area Foundation, Mayor Jared Carr announced at Thursday night’s Lebanon City Council work session.
Carr said funds will be directed to the Lebanon Fire Department to purchase smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
Carr said he will be encouraging individuals and businesses to donate to the program. Donations will be tax deductible.
“Hopefully we’ll get enough seed money to buy as many smoke detectors as we need ongoing for nor and forever,” Carr said.
