The community service of five individuals received recognition at the Chamber of Commerce’s Community Achievement Award at a banquet Thursday night.
Honored were Tom H. Miller, Delbert Long, Caroline McConnell McGill, J. Howard Fisk and Bradley Willard. Their pictures will hang on the Wall of Honor in the Cowan Civic Center.
Tom Miller was remembered as a pioneer in local media, who served as editor of the Lebanon Daily Record and in 1948 helped the O.R. Wright family bring radio station KLWT to the air. He later served as speech writer and information officer for the commanding general at Fort Leonard Wood. Miller died in 2012.  His award was presented by Michael Yurk, and Jim Boahannon who recalled meeting Miller when he was in high school and beginning his radio career at KLWT.
