Dixie June Fowler, 94, of Lebanon, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 18, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Lebanon.
She was born March 5, 1925, in Filly, Mo. to Noah T. and Mittie Oleatha Begley Baker.
On Nov. 29, 1942, she married James H. Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband James, on Aug. 10, 2011; a brother, Ferrell Baker, and a sister, Patricia Jennings.
Dixie was raised in the Filly and Eldorado Springs communities and graduated from high school. After she and James were married, they made their home in Eldorado Springs, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, Dixie also assisted her husband in his construction company. Dixie also ran a day care business for several years.
She is survived by two daughters, Toni McFarland and husband David, of Lebanon and Geraldine Evans and husband Bobby, of Lebanon; two sons, Steve Fowler and wife Janice, of Lebanon, and Jimmie Joe Fowler and wife Judy, of Lebanon; one brother, Tellmo Baker and wife Patricia, of San Angelo, Texas, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Dixie June Fowler will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Brad Reed officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Friends may call at their convenience in the funeral home. Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital may be made through the funeral home.
