JOSEPH “JOE BOB’’ GRAVEN

Joseph “Joe Bob’’ Graven, 85, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, in Lebanon.
He was born March 27, 1933, in Nebo, Mo. to Jewel and Jennie Lynn Henderson Graven.
On July 8, 2001, he married Barbara Ann Blakeley Matthews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dale Graven.
Joe Bob graduated from Lebanon High School in 1951. He was drafted into the United States Army and served our country for two years. He worked as an independent car dealer and was a sales manager for Montgomery Motors. Joe Bob was also a cattleman and raised registered Limousines. From 1975 until 1987, he was the owner and operator of Sand Spring Resort at Bennett Spring. He was a member of Laclede Masonic Lodge No. 83 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Joplin, as well as a member of Laclede County Shrine Club and the Keg Patrol.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Graven; children, Jacquelyn J. Bowman and her husband Jay, of Louisville, Ky.; Terry Graven and his wife, Nancy, and Jana Riley and her husband Randall, all of Lebanon; one brother, John Ray Graven and his wife Marieta, of St. Louis; five grandchildren, Nashville and Penelope Bowman, RaeAnn Shoemaker and her husband Brandon, Tera Wilburn and her husband Tyler, and Matthew Riley; two great-grandchildren, Addie and Brody Shoemaker; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Graven, of Lebanon, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Judy Blakely, also of Lebanon; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Joseph “Joe Bob’’ Graven will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Matt Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carney Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
