CAMDENTON — Toss to the right, toss to the left, quarterback draw, quarterback scramble, and completion of a long pass. These were the four plays that gave the Lebanon defense fits for a majority of Friday night when the Camdenton Lakers captured the Class 4 District 5 title over the Lebanon Yellowjackets, 35-7 at Bob Shore Stadium.

There are many things you could point to as reasoning for the loss for Lebanon (9-3 overall), but a continual point of contention that haunted LHS for most of the season was unsportsmanlike penalties (six total for the night).

It didn’t take long for the Yellowjackets to get hit with an unsportsmanlike penalty, with the ‘Jackets’ defense making a big stop on a third-and-long, but hit the quarterback late out of bounds. This penalty gave Camdenton (12-0 overall) a first down and extended the drive and allowed them to score to go up 13-7 after a missed extra point with 9:09 left in the first half.
