In front of a large crowd, the Lebanon High School boys’ tennis team improved to 10-4 on the 2019 campaign, defeating the Salem Tigers 9-0 on Senior Day.

After the match, head tennis coach Ron Crowell recognized the teams three seniors in Augustin “Goose” Fernandez, Nathaniel Smith and Zach Stubblefield.

“It was a great night to recognize our seniors,” he mentioned. “Zach and Nathaniel dominated in singles and doubles today. They are both having great seasons, and these seniors have been a big part of two consecutive winning seasons.

“Goose is a foreign exchange student who has been great for us all year long, and we appreciate the hard work he has put in.”

The match started with doubles play, and the ‘Jackets didn’t hesitate to draw first blood on the Tigers.
At No. 1 doubles, Bryson Crowell and Graham Miller teamed up to defeat Tatum Hatridge and Nathan Williams 8-0. The tandem of Smith/Stubblefield defeated Brock Thompson and Hunter Ross 8-0 in No. 2 doubles, and Kyle Maynor and Dalton Myler teamed up at No. 3 doubles to defeat Tristen James and Martin Jones, 8-2.
