Fans who attended Tuesday’s girls’ basketball game between the Lebanon Yellowjackets and Willard Tigers got their moneys worth between two solid teams competing in a non-conference matchup that featured numerous lead changes, a game-tying three pointer at the buzzer, and a intense overtime.

With Willard trailing by three points with just eight seconds remaining, Willard head coach JJ Adamson drew up a play for his daughter, Addy Adamson. Addy caught the ball at the top of the key and buried a game-tying three pointer off the backboard as the time expired to tie the game up at 61 apiece.

In overtime, the Tigers jumped out to a 65-61 lead before freshman Raegan McCowan took the game over by scoring eight of her 17 points in the overtime period to help lead Lebanon to a 76-73 victory after trailing 15-3 in the first quarter.

"I am so proud of our kids for the way they played," LHS coach Jacky Payne  said. "Willard started off hot against us and hit four three-pointers in the first quarter, but we were able to take the lead right before halftime to give us some momentum heading into the second half.

"I think our team learned a valuable lesson of the game isn't over until it is over. I thought we grew up quickly during that game. It seems like each season that I have coached you have a game that can define your season, so hopefully that game (on Tuesday) will be ours."
