The Lebanon girls’ soccer team got their preseason started on Monday with their annual Jamboree at ‘Jacket Stadium.

Attending the Jamboree were four teams (Lebanon, Bolivar, Crocker, and Marshfield) and every team played each other once in a 25 minute half.

The ‘Jackets finished the Jamboree with a 0-2-1 record, falling to both Marshfield and Bolivar, but drawing with Crocker.

“We knew coming into this game that we had a lot of new girls in new spots because we graduated a lot, so this is a great experience for us to see who will fit best at the varsity level,” Lebanon head coach Matt Jernigan said.

In the first game against Crocker, Lebanon trailed 1-0 early on in the contest, but junior Tyra Rogers netted a goal with less than two minutes to go in the contest for LHS to earn the draw at 1-1.

“I was proud of the girls, and we gave up a goal early on that hopefully, we will stop later (in the year),” Jernigan said about the Crocker game. “Tyra Rogers, a first-time junior player, scored her first ever goal, so that was cool for her, but I thought the girls did well.”
