The Champion Athletics team comprised of girls from Waynesville, Conway and Lebanon, recently competed at the American Patriotic Championships on November 9 in Kansas City.

During the competition, the team received a a paid Gold bid to the US Finals (anywhere in the United States) and an at-large bid to the Quest in Orlando, Fla.

Unfortunately with the long travel comes a large cost, so the team will be fundraising for the chance to take the team to the biggest recreational cheer event in the nation. The competition will be held on March at the Worldwide Center of Sports, according to head coach Kristina McCoy.

According to McCoy, the girls try out in August and compete all the way through April in different competitions all across the country.

McCoy mentioned that she was thrilled to bring the Gold bid to the community of Lebanon.

“Champion Athletics is ecstatic to bring this Gold bid to our community,” she said. “There are less than 1,000 bids handed out across the country at hundreds of cheer events nationwide.”

Members of the team include Daegan Woods, Amya Pirtle, Evah Ryan, Kaylee Lewis, Grace Baker, Bailey Shultz, Brooklynn Strong, Kaiden Wood, Delaney Bean, Jayla Wells, Hanna Esther, and Hailey Quick.

People can go like the Champion Athletics Facebook page to stay up-to-date on when the fundraising events will be, and those who are willing to donate to help travel costs can contact McCoy at coachkristina@yahoo.com or call the gym at 417-588-3716 to find out more details.
