Professional indoor football team plans to call Lebanon home

The Lebanon City Council announced on Thursday evening that Lebanon will soon be home to a new professional indoor football team. Above is the Ozarks Mountain Express logo.


According to a press release from the City of Lebanon Communications Office, the city of Lebanon will soon be home to a new professional football team.

During the 2020 football season, the Ozarks Mountain Express, part of the Elite Indoor Football League will play all their home games at the Cowan Civic Center.

Majority owner of the Express, Garrett Warren, decided that the town is the right fit for the franchise.
"We are excited not only to be playing football here but also to be involved in communities and schools throughout the Ozarks," Warren said.

The EIF professional teams are located in several states including Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Nevada, California, Georgia, New York, and North Carolina.

According to the league website, the addition of the Express adds to the already growing Midwest Division of the league and more teams will be announced soon.

Players who would like to sign up for the league can do so by going to the official EIF website at and clicking the ‘EIF’ tab and click on player registration.

Some rules in the league include An indoor artificial surface, 85 feet wide and 50 yards long with end zones eight to ten yards in length. Goal posts are placed and centered above each end line dasher board. The posts are 10 feet off the ground and 10 feet wide.

The uprights should extend 20 feet from the crossbar. Eight players on the field for each team with a 20-man active roster and five players may be on an inactive roster. Each contest will consist of four 15-minute quarters and overtime will follow the NCAA format.
