Lebanon R-3 School District officials opened two water-damaged time capsules this week. They found reminders of a past era, a little the worse for more than 100 years of wear, but some were still intact.
The capsules were removed last week from cornerstones during the ongoing demolition of school buildings at the old Lebanon Junior High campus and examined at the R-3 Central Office Friday.
School officials are working with an archivist from the State Historical Society of Missouri to preserve the time capsule contents.
