A secret Santa has provided an early Christmas gift for Laclede County R-1 elementary students who coudn’t pay their library fines.
A Conway alum donated money to pay off all the current lost and damaged book fines for the elementary library. The school’s librarian, Marlana Howerton, said the donation allowed students with fines to resume checking out books.
“The kids have been so excited to get to check out again,” Howerton said. “They were so surprised that someone would be so nice to them.”
