BETTY FAYE (CHAMBERS) DILL

Posted

Betty Faye (Chambers) Dill was born on Nov. 4, 1932, and went to be with her Savior on May 14, 2023 in Marshfield, at the age of 90.

Betty was born near Competition to Charles Ira and Mary Lattius (Durbin) Chambers. She was the seventh of eight children and was the last remaining of her siblings.

Betty was saved at home at the age of 15. At 17, she married Alva Vernon Dill. They made their home near Conway where they worked to build the family dairy farm.

Betty and Alva were blessed with three boys: Roger Lynn, who was born in July of 1953 and passed away in July of 1954; Jerry Dale, born in 1955; and Jack Lane, born in 1960.

Betty joined Charity Missionary Baptist Church in 1959, and she remained a member there for the rest of her life.

Betty worked hard caring for her family, being Alva’s helpful companion while he served as a Missionary Baptist preacher and pastor for many churches in the area.

When she was younger, Betty kept busy helping on the farm, gardening, and cooking, sometimes for not only family but also a bunch of hungry farmhands. Everyone loved her good home cooking.

Betty was a talented quilt maker, creating many, many beautiful pieces over the years.

She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family and church were the things that mattered to Betty.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alva; her son Roger; her daughter-in-law Sarah Ann Dill; and her sisters and brothers.

Betty is survived by her son Jerry; son Jack and wife, Patty; grandson Jarrod and wife, Madeleine; grandson Joshua and wife, Sarah; and grandson Jordan, all of Conway; step-grandchildren Ali Fletcher and husband Jason of Conway; Amy Valdez and husband Joseph of Strafford; Aislynn Hamilton and husband Brandon of Marshfield; and Alayna Carter and husband Patrick of Edmond, Ok. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Luke, Kaylie, Walker, Elijah, Colton, Ellowyn and Emma Dill, and step-great-grandchildren Kane and Kali Miller; Parker and Quinn Hamilton; Amelie Carter; and Hendrix, Harvest and Honey Fletcher.

Betty was a very special person who will be greatly missed.
