City hosting Citizen Appreciation Day at Boswell

The City of Lebanon wants to let its citizens know that they are appreciated with a fun afternoon at Boswell Aquatic Center.

From 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, the city is hosting Citizen Appreciation Day at the Boswell Aquatic Center at Boswell Park.

“We just want to show the citizens of Lebanon that they are appreciated, and we want to give them a chance to see the equipment that the city uses on a day-to-day basis,” said Lebanon Parks Department Assistant Director Elliot Wilburn said.

During the event, people will be able to enter the Boswell Aquatic Center for free. Along with the swimming, kids and kids at heart will get some up close looks at the various vehicles that the city uses. Everything from Public Works electric trucks to Lebanon Fire Department trucks to Lebanon Police Department cars will be on display.

The city is also providing free hot dogs and bottled waters to those in attendance.

The city was originally going to show appreciation to its citizens with Movie Night in the Park, but after rain forced that event to be canceled twice, the pool party was planned, according to Wilburn.
