CLIFFORD I. HAGOOD

Clifford I. Hagood, 90, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, in Lebanon.

He was born Wednesday, June 19, 1929, in Ponder, Mo. to Elbert and Martha Smith Hagood.

On Saturday, March 28, 1953, he married Delores Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Martha Hagood; one son, Kirk James Hagood; four sisters, Vivian, Verna Lee, Mary Alice, and Minnie Faye; one brother, Junior Hagood, and one grandson, Matthew Hagood.

Clifford graduated from Central High School in Springfield. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was also an over the road truck driver, owning his own truck for many years.

He was a longtime, active and faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Delores; one son, James Hagood (Barbara) of Union, Mo.; two daughters, Janice Lynn Meinhardt (Jim) of St. Louis, and Mary Kathryn Dierks of Lebanon; brother and sister-in-law Delane (Betty) Wood of Springfield; ; 13 grandchildren, Tabitha, Claudia, Jeremie, Brian, Stanley, Tyler, Clifford, Robert, Benjamin, Maggie, Caleb, Stephen, and Benjamin; seventeen great-grandchildren; other relatives, church family and many friends.

Funeral services for Clifford I. Hagood will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Don Ball officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
