Council considers changing lodging ordinance

The Lebanon City Council is considering a a lodging facility ordinance city officials say would help resolve any issues with motels in town.
City Code Administrator Joe Berkich presented the proposed ordinance at a Council work session Thursday night.
Berkich said the city has had a lot of issues with some lodging facilities and he visited with state officials and looked at other lodging ordinances in Branson and Kansas City to see how they dealt with the issue. He said he also checked with the Laclede County Health Department and the Fire Department.
Berkich said  Health and Senior Services, the health department, code administration, and the fire department would be involved in lodging facility inspections.
