The Aug. 29 meeting of the Laclede County Commission was mostly a housekeeping meeting.
The Commission approved the contract with HomeWAV that provides a new inmate security system following a clarification of the termination clause in the contract requested by Sheriff David Milsap.
On the first reading, it seemed the contract could be terminated immediately by HomeWAV.
“After reviewing and rereading the contract, legal and the sheriff agree that that only applies if we tamper with their software system. Of course, we have no intention of doing that and therefore that concern was eliminated,” Presiding Commissioner Randy Angst said.
Angst said Millsap recommended accepting it, and the commissioners voted for it.
