DENNIS "WAYNE" WEDDLE

Dennis “Wayne” Weddle, Sr. 77, of Fordland died Monday, July 17, 2023, in his home in Fordland. He born on the family farm March 3, 1946, in Lebanon to Wallace Weddle and Gladys Basnett.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Karen Weddle on August 13, 2019; his daughters, Denise Welch, Paula Wood, Sherry Weddle and Peggy Sue Weddle; and his brother, Larry Joe Weddle.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis Weddle, Jr. and his wife, Michele, John Weddle and his wife, Amanda, Danny McCrite and his wife, Diana Hinkle; his daughters, Sandra Johnson and her husband, Danny, Brenda Hammond and her husband, Eric and Jerilie Marshall and her husband, Alan Cantrell; his step-mother, Dorothy Brackett; seven brothers and six sisters; nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Wayne grew up in Lebanon and came from a large family, consisting of eight brothers and six sisters. He learned how to be a hard worker and became a bricklayer. He joined the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local 10. He later was a member of the Local 15 at the age of twelve. He became a Journeyman at the age of fifteen and worked for Weddle Construction, building commercial buildings with his family all around southwest and south central Missouri.

On May 3, 2002, he was married to Karen. They shared seventeen years of marriage before her passing. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rogersville. He also attended Life 360 in Fordland.

Wayne had a unique sense of humor. He was an outdoorsman, a hard worker and loved his job. Building and creating structures gave him so much satisfaction. He liked raising bottle-fed calves He also looked forward to going hunting and target shooting. He collected guns and loved watching old western movies.

Wayne leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. He was a solid friend you could count on. He was there for his family and friends and looked forward to spending time with them as often as he could. The memories he leaves behind will be cherished for years to come.

Funeral services for Wayne Weddle Sr. were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. A memorial has been established in honor of Wayne Weddle Sr. and donations may be left at the funeral home.
