EVA "FAYE" GILES

Eva “Faye’’ Giles, 74, of Brownfield Community, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in Springfield.

She was born Dec. 23, 1948, in Grovespring to Ray and Clara Belle Pearce Parker.

On Jan. 1, 1965, she was united in marriage to Carl Douglas “Doug’’ Giles.

Those preceding her in death include her parents; two brothers, Doyle A. Parker and Billy D. Parker; one grandson, Dillon Darst; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jane Giles, Tom Righetti, Stanley Waterman, Allen Giles, Darlene Riemersma and Randy Giles; and one niece, Heather Waterman.

Faye worked as a heavy equipment clerk for Civil Service for over ten years, until her medical retirement. She enjoyed traveling and camping with Doug and in younger years also enjoyed long motorcycle rides. Time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, is what she treasured most.

She was a longtime member of Brownfield Baptist Church where she was also the secretary and treasurer for many years.

Faye is survived by her husband Doug; one daughter, Melissa Dawn Darst and her husband Randy of Lebanon; one son, Matthew D. Giles and his significant other, Ariel Ewald of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Dustin Darst, Mackenzie Buske and her husband Austin, Kaitlyn Darst, Tylin Giles and Kason Giles; two sisters, Judy Waterman and Sondra Rowden and her husband Mark, all of Lebanon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Patsy Parker of Kansas City; Clarence Giles of Brownfield; Ronald Giles and his wife Linda of Florida, Betty Righetti of Miami, Fla.; Winnie Keister and her husband Larry of North Carolina and Jerry Riemersma of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service for Faye Giles will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. There is no scheduled burial. At her request, her body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time, also on Sunday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
