March was not a good month for the employees of Lebanon’s Family Dollar store on Commercial Street.
That was when its Dollar Tree corporate owners released their plans to start closing some stores and to rebrand others as Dollar Tree stores.
“The company also expects to accelerate its pace of Family Dollar store closings by closing as many as 390 additional under-performing stores. The total number of stores closed may change depending on the company’s ability to achieve material rent concessions from landlords,” stated the March 6 Dollar Tree news release.
Initially, Lebanon’s Family Dollar seemed to have dodged the axe.
