G3 suspends production

Posted
G3 Boats has suspended production because of the COVID-19 pandemic. G3 said it has paused production for one week to protect the health and safety of G3 workers as a result of the COVID-19 virus. The shutdown affects 304 employees and 67 of those employees are now telecommuting. The company will continue to evaluate the situation as it considers reopening. “We will review the situation on a weekly basis,” according to Martin Peters, senior manager of communications for Yamaha US, which owns G3. He said office employees were working from home. Peters said hourly employees will receive pay, but G3 will evaluate the pay situation on a weekly basis, just as they are evaluating the pause in production on a weekly basis. “As an example, just yesterday (Wednesday) we announced employees will receive hourly pay for next week,” he said.
