On Saturday, Oct. 28, about 150 former employees of the H.D. Lee plants in Lebanon met at the VFW Hall on north Missouri 5 for a “family” event.
It had been 20 years since the plants hummed with the sound of hundreds of sewing machine motors pushing needles into denim, two decades since the intercom squawked a name or the hydraulics hummed or steam hissed from a press.
And back then, there was the talking, lots of talking. H.D. Lee employees knew things about each other.
Perhaps that helps explains a reunion that was more like a family event or one long work break with plenty of time to do more talking.
