James Decker, 79, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, May 20, 2020, in Lebanon.

He was born July 19, 1940, in Lynchburg, Mo. to Lee and Lillie Bennett Decker.

On Dec. 30, 1960, he married Linda Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda Decker, who died March 9, 2019, and by three brothers, Ray, Junior and Ronnie Decker.

James attended school at Sycamore rural school. James was employed as a bus route driver for Guys, Coca Cola Bottling, and retired from Frito Lay. He later took a part-time position with Shepherd Hills Factory Outlets. He and his son Frank owned a lawn service in the Lebanon community.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Frankie Decker of Lebanon and Terry Decker and his wife Denise of Sunrise Beach; one daughter, Sherry Walters and her husband Doug of Lebanon; four brothers, Sam Decker and his wife Shirley, Darrell Decker and his wife Karen and Lonnie Decker, all of Lebanon, and Ricky Decker of Monroe, Ga.; one sister, Susie Wood of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Courtney Herron and her husband John, Sarah Decker, Jake Decker and Adam Walters; two great-grandchildren, Conner and Alli McKnight; other relatives and many dear friends.

A graveside service and burial for James Decker will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Lebanon Cemetery with Roger Marshall officiating, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Under the guidelines of the CDC and the state of Missouri, the staff of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel ask that you observe social distancing and proper hygiene. Those guidelines will be monitored during this time to accommodate the family and their wishes.
