James Lee Brockman, 63, of Lebanon, died Monday, May 15, 2023, in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 29, 1960, in Lebanon to A.C. and Glenda Simpson Brockman.

On Aug. 13, 1983, he was united in marriage to Kathy Jo Winfrey.

Those preceding him in death include his father, A.C. Brockman; special cousin, Debra Brockman; brother-in-law, John Greenwood; paternal grandparents, Aubrey Curtis and Hattie Brockman; maternal grandparents, Owen and Lucille Simpson.

James graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1978.He worked at Consumers Market for a period of time and then began working at VF Factory Outlet, where he remained until he was no longer able to work. He also helped at Dutch Maid Laundry Mat, which was a family owned business. In his free time, James enjoyed listening to books on tape, watching western movies, going to rodeos and listening to country music. However, time spent and laughter shared with his family is what he treasured most.

He was a longtime, active and faithful member of Hayes Street Church of Christ.

James is survived by his wife Kathy; one son, Cody Brockman and his wife Patty of Jackson; one grandson, Parker Brockman; his mother, Glenda Brockman of Lebanon; two sisters, Becky Yotter and her husband Terry of Greenwood and Beth Coalson and her husband James of Bella Vista, Ark.; a cousin, raised in the home as his brother, Mike Brockman of Rogersville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Cook and her husband Derrel of Lebanon; Jim Winfrey and his wife Linda of Lebanon; Larry Winfrey and his wife Lydia of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Gloria Denney and her husband Mike of Conway and Betty Greenwood of Mountain Grove; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for James Lee Brockman will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Jeremy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dotson Cemetery. Visitation was at 6 p.m. Friday also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Memorials have been suggested to Lebanon FFA (please make checks payable to Lebanon FFA).
