KATHRYN LAVERN (MIZER) WRINKLE

Kathryn Lavern (Mizer) Wrinkle, was born Feb. 1, 1929, at home near Lebanon, to Charles Cecil Mizer and Louvina Abbigail (Test) Mizer. She was the fifth of six children. Katie grew up and lived most of her life in Lebanon. The last six years she lived with her daughter’s family in Madison, Mississippi. Katie passed away on Saturday night, July 22, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Madison, Mississippi at the age of 94 years, five months, and twenty-one days.

Katie graduated from Lebanon High School in 1946. On Dec. 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Glenn Wrinkle, Sr. at Columbus, Kan. They were married for fifty-eight years, three months, and four days before Glenn passed away on March 16, 2005. To this marriage were added six children: Glenn E. Jr. (Eddie), Rodney Paul, Terrence Oliver, Kristine Kay, Kimberly Ann, and Thomas Dennis.

Katie accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord in 1951. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon until the time of her death. She attended the Grace Crossing Baptist Church in Madison the past six years.

After she married, Katie worked at the Rice-Stix factory, Empire Gas, and was a faithful employee of First National Bank in Lebanon for nearly thirty years. Katie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Garden Club. She loved serving the Lord, singing in the church choir, gardening, bowling, and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She especially loved making quilts. She made many quilts for her children and grandchildren.

 Katie is survived by four sons, Rev. Eddie Wrinkle and his wife Tabitha of McAlester, Okla.; Rodney Wrinkle and his wife Cheryl of Lebanon; Terry Wrinkle and his wife Cheryl of Marshfield, and Tommy Wrinkle of Madison, Miss.; one daughter, Kristine Klamm and her husband Richard of Madison, Miss.; nine grandchildren, Emily (Wrinkle) Wiede, Glennan Wrinkle, Krystal (Wrinkle) Whaley, Stacy (Wrinkle) Tindle, Katie (Wrinkle) Suess, Jeramy Wrinkle, Michael Klamm, Jason Klamm and Matthew Klamm; twenty-one great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; plus a host of nieces and nephews.

 Katie Wrinkle was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, infant brother John, Oliver, and Gordon Mizer; two sisters, Wilma Moore and Juanita Freed; infant daughter Kimberly Ann, and husband Glenn Wrinkle.

 Visitation for Kathryn L. Wrinkle will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 29, 2023. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jason Klamm,  Rev. Eddie Wrinkle, and Rev. Marsha Vincent officiating.

Burial will be at the Lebanon City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to the Commands of Christ Project or to the American Legion Auxiliary.
