Kiwanis Club spends $30K on children in need

Posted

Over a thousand smiles came from about 285 kids and their adult shoppers during the 2019 Kiwanis Kids Christmas Shopping event this week.
The kids were bused to Walmart for morning or afternoon shopping sprees Tuesday through Thursday where they received help from their own personal clothing shopping expert.
Sean Clearbrook with the Kiwanis Club directed the project, which has been helping local kids in need for decades. The children are chosen by teachers and counselors at area schools.
“We get a lot of happy kids, and we get a lot of humbled volunteers. A lot of stories and a lot of friendships are created the week of this program. It’s a good time for sure,” Clearbrook said.
