Laclede County Commission hears how grant money would be spent on jail needs

Posted
When the Laclede County Commission met for its regular weekly meeting on Oct. 10, County Maintenance Director Gene Hoke told the commission how he hoped to spend $556,000 of grant money. Hoke reported that a $556,000 grant through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services earmarked for specific uses was available for the upkeep of the jail. Hoke said Sheriff David Millsap asked him to designate jail hot spots in need of improvements. One is the epoxy floor of the jail’s kitchen, which he said the health department often comments on.
