Lady Jackets start tough against Tigers

Posted
The varsity lady Yellowjacket volleyball team took on the Republic Tigers again Tuesday, Aug. 29, after losing to them in tournament play Saturday, Aug. 26. The ‘Jackets started the match in good form, handing the Tigers a 25-21 loss in the first set. Coach Jenny Collins said she knew going into the match that Republic’s powerful offense would leave the ‘Jackets with their hands full. “We came out in the first set on fire with enthusiasm, and things were just rolling in our favor. We kept Republic out of system, causing them to hit balls out of bounds, and we were able to capitalize on their errors to pull out the first set,” she said. For more on this story, see the LCR.
