Large events cancelled at City facilities through April 29

The City of Lebanon will abide by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines of limiting public events for groups of 50 or more through April 29 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the city announced this morning. All events scheduled at the Cowan Civic Center and other city facilities will be canceled and fees will be refunded. The cancellation period will also include large events hosted by the Lebanon Parks Department. The action comes following the recommendation of the federal government and is endorsed by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson and the Laclede County Health Department. If possible, staff will work with event organizers to reschedule for a later date. “We realize this will cause hardship for some organizations and do not take this lightly,” said Mayor Jared Carr. “The health and safety of our community and staff always come first in making these difficult decisions. We will reevaluate this situation toward the end of the cancellation period and make changes accordingly.” The city plans to release more information as it becomes available.
