It took overtime on Thursday night at Waynesville High School, but the Lebanon High School girls’ basketball team squeaked out a crucial Ozark Conference win over the Tigers, 58-54.

With the Lady ‘Jackets (14-6 overall) trailing 52-50 in regulation, head coach Jacky Payne drew up a play for senior Jenna Glendenning where she converted a tough layup to tie the game with just three seconds remaining to force the extra time.

“That is a play I have been running for a lot of years,” Payne mentioned after the game. “It was to get the ball in her hands where she (Glendenning) can drive for a layup or have a lob option over the top if she saw it was there, but she drove in there and made a great play.”

In overtime, LHS dominated for most of the period, outscoring Waynesville 6-2, including a clutch two-point basket by freshman Raegan McCowan and four made free throws from Glendenning.
