Lebanon High School students got a lesson in local government and a new sidewalk for the high school area to Breaktime as a result of a recent initiative.
The City Council on Monday approved design work for the sidewalk project.
Stephanie Hasty, High School English Language Arts teacher said the project originated when she took part in the GOCAPS Externship in the summer of 2019.
“Part of my experience was a morning session with our mayor and city administrator,” Hasty said. “Together we came up with an idea and they just allowed me to keep on dreaming and getting bigger with how I wanted our students to be involved.”
