Mayor Carr fires back on trash service speculation

Posted
Mayor Jared Carr offered a rebuke at Monday night’s Council meeting to what he called “bizarre and unfounded” claims made by a candidate for mayor about changes to the the city’s trash service. Carr made the statement at the conclusion of the meeting in response to a post on the Jim White for Mayor Facebook page. White had said the city’s announcement it was taking bids for trash service could lead to the city requiring citizens to buy trash service from the successful bidder. Carr began his statement by noting that the city had asked for citizen input in surveys two years ago and has used this to build its policies “With a clear vision to the future of Lebanon.” “I want to assure the public that deceitful manipulation about any of our decisions to do what our customers have asked us to do will not derail the process we have set in place to provide the best services we can as a city,” Carr said.
