Posted

A pedestrian was hurt when he was struck by a vehicle at 5:40 p.m. Thursday on Missouri 32, three miles west of Lebanon.
The Highway Patrol reported that the pedestrian was helping to push a stranded vehicle into a driveway when an eastbound 2003 Mercury Sable driven by Jessica L. Crall, 25, of Lebanon approached the stranded vehicle and was unable to see the vehicle due to a hillcrest and no working lights on the stranded vehicle. The driver swerved to miss the other vehicle and struck the pedestrian, Cody S. Shields, 30, of Lebanon.
Shields was airlifted to Mercy Hospital Springfield, with what the Highway Patrol described as serious injuries.
