Planning and zoning makes marijuana recommendations

Posted

The Lebanon Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday night sent recommendations for medical marijuana zoning districts to the City Council.
The districts would set up areas where cultivating, testing, infusing and dispensing medical marijuana would be allowed in the city limits.
Missouri voters approved medical marijuana in a ballot issue in November. Most regulations will come from the state, but it is up to cities to set zoning areas where medical marijuana is allowed.
Code Administrator Joe Berkich said there is currently nothing in the city codes allowing for marijuana and the proposed zoning would address that.
