Former Lebanon Mayor Josh Ray filed Friday to run for the City Council seat currently held by Councilwoman LeAnn Mather.
Ray served as mayor for more than a year, from his election in April 2016 until he resigned in June 2017. He announced his candidacy on his Facebook page Friday.
“With a good day job out of town and without the burden of time consuming dog and pony shows as Mayor, if elected, I can focus on returning council to the values/goals I had as mayor: open communication with the public of all city concerns, fair treatment for all, integrity, and the willingness to do what is right no matter how painful the circumstances are,” Ray said in a Facebook post.
