Robert Bechtel, 64, of Lake Ozark, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, in St. Louis.
He was born Dec. 19, 1955, in Stoutland, Mo. to Harley and Zelma Craddock Bechtel.
Robert married Deborah Wynkoop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Zelma Bechtel, and one brother, Harvey Bechtel.
Robert and his brother owned and operated Auto Truck Connection for over 20 years. He loved buying and selling cars. He also raised mini donkeys and sheep.
He was a member of Mt. Sinai Church in Marshfield.
Survivors include his wife Debbie Bechtel of Lake Ozark; three children, Jacob Schwegman and his wife Sara of Overland Park, Kan.;, Julie Jacobs and her husband James of Elkland, MO, and Jessica Handley and her husband Jeremy of Strafford, MO; two sisters, Beverly Bechtel of Richland. and Norma Thomas and her husband John of St. Charles’ nieces and nephews, Eric Allee, Meredith Reynolds, Susan McTague, Tim Woolsey and Sarah Rogers and their families; his father-in-law, Dale Wynkoop and his wife Sue of Conway, Ark.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jason Wynkoop and his wife Dilcey of Conway, Ark. and Sandy Woolsey and her husband Mike of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Lily Jacobs, Rosalie, Ella and Liam Schwegman; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service for Robert Bechtel will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Gary Davenport officiating. Visitation will start one hour prior to the service beginning at 3 p.m. also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Memorials have been suggested to the American Heart Association.
