Robert Lyman Gilliland, 84, of Springfield, formerly of Lebanon, died Sunday, March 22, 2020, in Springfield.
He was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Walker, Minn. to Harold Henry and Ruby Starkweather Gilliland.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elsie Marilyn Gartin and Lillian Jean Oregon, and a daughter-in-law, Katy Gilliland.
He retired for Roadway Express and later retired from Yellow Freight.
Robert was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lebanon where he taught Junior Church for many years and also drove a bus each Sunday to Fort Leonard Wood bring soldiers to church services under the Free Day Away Program. He was a current member of Berean Baptist Church in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife Donna Lee Lambeth Gilliland of the home; two sons, Jeffery Scott of Aurora, Colo., and Curtis Allen and his daughter Jenell of Littleton, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Susan Lee Anderson of East Sound, Wash. and Diana Raye LaBarge (Michael) of Punta Gorda, Fla.; one stepson, David Kloster of Llano, Texas; one sister, Bonnie Rae Macdissi of Omaha, Neb.; one brother-in-law, Knute Orton of Gig Harbor, Wash.; nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements for Robert Lyman Gilliland are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North of Springfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Berean Baptist Church or Integrity Home Care of Springfield.
