Posted

Stephen Michael Redfearn Jr. was born Oct. 1, 1983, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, Ill. to Dawn Oldfield Redfearn and Stephen Michael Redfearn Sr., and died July 20, 2023.

Stephen attended school in four different states, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri where he graduated High School from Lebanon in 2002. He went on to attend the University of Missouri earning a degree for Mechanical Engineering in 2007. Immediately following graduation, he went to work for Emerson Electric/Copeland in their Lebanon Plant before making his way to the St. Louis area. While in St. Louis he worked for Anheuser-Busch and ultimately to Statco-DSI where he worked his way up to Vice President of Engineering. He would travel often with his job and we treasured every minute we could spend with him.

Stephen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Donald and Nellye Redfearn, maternal grandparents Jim and Dorma Oldfield, Uncles Don Redfearn and Charles Redfearn, and a very special Aunt Karen Redfearn.

Stephen is survived by his parents Stephen and Dawn Redfearn; his beloved sister, Kelsey Redfearn Wolken; brother-in-law, Seth Wolken; and his two cherished nieces, Sawyer Lynn and Kwynn Madelyn Wolken; uncle, Jim Oldfield and wife, Debbie with their three boys, James, Jon, and Jason; aunt, Michelle Brown, her son, Collin, and aunt, Jane Corder (Phil).

Stephen was a member of the Ferrari Club of America and had a love for restoring and driving fast cars. He also enjoyed the outdoors and loved canoeing or floating the Current River. St. Louis Zoo was a special place for him and he particularly enjoyed sharing it with his nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be set later. In lieu of flowers or plants a memorial fund has been set-up with the St. Louis Zoo. https://www.applyweb.com/public/contribute?s=stlzootr
