VESTER L. WILLIAMS

Vester L. Williams, 84, of Lebanon passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Vester was born Aug. 27, 1938, in Wright County to Owen Williams and Ethel Jones. He was raised in Wright County and worked for Bishop Furniture.

His real passion was discovered when he went in to business for himself, doing upholstery, flipping houses and fixing old cars. He had such a special talent re-upholstering furniture, as well as vehicle interiors and boat interiors. He also would buy houses, remodel and renovate those, and re-sell. He also enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. He was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did.

On May 24, 1985, Vester was united in marriage to Jewel Brazeal and together they raised their five children.

Vester was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Carl and his wife, Betty and his brother, Robert Sprague.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jewel Williams; two sons, Ronnie Williams and his wife, Carolyn of Lebanon, and Clinton Todd and his wife, Darlene of Marshfield; three daughters, Theresa Sees and her husband, Carl, Brenda Crawford and her husband, Billy and Cindy West and her husband, John, all of Marshfield; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Davis of Springfield, and Dorothy Williams of Lebanon; and a brother, Gene Daniels and his wife, Brenda of Stoutland.

Vester loved being with his family and enjoying a good meal. He loved to visit and always had a story to tell. In addition to all he did, Vester also liked to go camping, traveling, going to garage sales, flea markets, crafting and going to furniture stores and going to I-44 Speedway. He had such an appreciation for antiques.

He was a hard worker but always had time for family and friends. He will be missed, but his work ethic and love for his family will be remembered and appreciated for years to come.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with burial in McBride Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in Vester’s honor to the Humane Society through the funeral home.
