Posted

Lebanon voters said yes Tuesday to a 1/2 cent public safety sales tax for the city.
The tax passed with 56 percent of the vote or a total of 508 votes, according to the unofficial results from the Laclede County Clerk’s Office. The tax was opposed by 398 voters or about 44 percent.
The tax was the only issue on the ballot in Tuesday’s elections.
City officials said the tax was needed to pay for increasing law enforcement, fire and other public safety related expenses.
