WILDA "GEAN" (SANDERS) MORROW

Wilda “Gean” (Sanders) Morrow, 91, passed away in Lebanon on July 4, 2023. Gean was born Aug. 2, 1931 near Lockwood to William and Myrl (Courtney) Sanders. She attended school in Lockwood and Greenfield.

After graduating high school, Gean attended Burge School of Nursing in Springfield. She met the love of her life one day when she called a taxi for a ride to school. She married Gerald L. Morrow on Dec. 6, 1949. The couple moved to Lebanon and had four children; Cherrie, Dean, Allen, and Gala.

Gean was a homemaker, a farm wife, a bookkeeper for Gerald’s moving and storage business, and in later years operated a gas station and restaurant on East Highway 32. After retirement, Gean and Gerald traveled extensively including several trips to Hawaii.

Gean enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, creating heirloom keepsakes for family and friends. She loved flowers and her yard was a paradise in bloom. Gean loved her family with food, preparing countless family dinners that ended with delicious home-baked desserts.  She adored her family and welcomed each new addition with an open heart. Her life’s joys were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Gean was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Allen; her husband, Gerald; her sister, Mary Lou Hall; and son-in-law, Scott Solari.

She is survived by her children, Cherrie Seitenzahl and husband James of Kapaa, Hawaii; Dean Morrow and wife Linda of Lebanon; Gala Solari Keller and husband Allan of Bradleyville; her sister, Peggy (Sanders) Lilienkamp of Mount Vernon; her grandchildren; Jeannine (Seitenzahl) Oliver and husband Jay of San Diego, California, Bethany Morrow of Lebanon; Joel Solari and husband Ronnie Rose of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Erin (Morrow) Slye and husband Justin of Lebanon; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mariah, Rylee, Katie, Kyle, Madelynn, Jillian; two great-great-grandchildren; Everly and Greyson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with burial in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 11 in the funeral home.

A memorial has been established to the Alzheimers Association and donations may be left at the funeral home or by visiting the Alzheimers website at alz.org
